The Reality Star I Cannot Stop Watching II December 7, 2009

Well, it’s been awhile since the Sarah Palin/Oprah Winfrey interview.  Given the lapse in time, I will not make too many specific comments other than to say . . . I wonder what staffer will ever want to work for her ever after all the bashing she did of the McCain staffers, which makes me wonder how serious of a political candidate she could ever be.  However, if you did not get enough during the on-air Sarah Palin/Oprah Winfrey interview, here are some You Tube clips of some of the extras.

Oh – one other interesting point here . . . @ about the four-minute mark, Sarah Palin states that she did not council her kids before she accepted John McCain’s offer for Vice President.  However, in an interview with Sean Hannity she stated, “It was a time of asking the girls to vote on it, anyway.  And they voted unanimously, yes.  Didn’t bother asking my son because, you know, he’s going to be off doing his thing anyway, so he wouldn’t be so impacted by, at least, the campaign period here.  So ask the girls what they thought and they’re like, absolutely.  Let’s do this, mom.”

Going Rogue . . . or the Reality Star I Can’t Stop Watching! November 15, 2009

Sarah Palin’s new book, “Going Rogue,” is released this Tuesday.  Before the release of the new book, I thought it would be good to remind the Uncle Max blog readers about her odd lies while she has become a public figure.  See this comprehensive listing at Andrew Sullivan’s blog, The Daily Dish.  Here is my favorite:

Palin lied when she told voters she improvised her convention speech when her teleprompter stopped working properly; in fact, all reports showed that the machine had functioned perfectly and that her speech had closely followed the script.

I am very tempted to read this book to see what else CRAZY she says (she reminds me of a quote from a good friend of mine (hat tip: JBI) . . . “You just can’t argue with crazy.”).  Anyway, I am afraid that by reading the book that I am just further endorsing the perpetuation of this craziness.  Will you be reading the book (and if you are, let me know and I can read your copy – then, I won’t feel as guilty)?!?!?

Uncle Max is Back! October 3, 2009

As some of you may recall, I kept an Election 2008 Blog that discussed various election issues as well as offered my opinions regarding numerous political hot topics.  After the election, I had intended to maintain the blog, but alas . . . I did not.  So, I began to tweet about various political topics, but many of you out there seem to think that “tweeting” was kind of lame.  So, @ the prompting of several individuals (SAA and NG mainly), I have decided to start the blog again while still maintaining the twitter pages for all of you tweeters.  I’ll also post occasional items on my Facebook page as well.  Basically – you won’t be able to escape what I think about the world!  Furthermore, I plan to post about various other topics that I find amusing or interesting (mainly theatre, TV, fashion, Chicago happenings, etc.).  In terms of frequency, my goal will be to post a few times a week and use my Facebook page to notify people of when a new post exists on the blog with a monthly email that summarizes what is on the blog.  Finally, expect the posts to be a bit shorter than the last blog with links to more articles for you to read (the micr0-blog tweeing concept has made an influence on me in terms of keeping posts shorter)!

 Overall, the goal of this new blog will be the same as the Election 2008 Blog.  I want to engage, to inspire, and to provoke . . . and have a little fun making all of us more informed citizens in the world in which we must coexist!
